Every day in America we encounter people different from us. In school, at work, while shopping, at the playground, or in our place of worship—we meet someone who is a different race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, or culture. It is a great and lasting American tradition to welcome all. After all, it is our differences that make us unique in the world. The Dignity & Respect Campaign operates under the premise that differences are only barriers when we allow them to be. Working with elected officials, local businesses, and non-profits, we host community pledge drives and D&R Initiatives to demonstrate our commitment to making our communities better places for all to live—with all of our differences.
